Because it's freaking Homeworld It deserves its own topic and if you never played it get ready to rest in pasta!

Pasta, are you going to get it? I didn't know the Homeworld series, but just by looking at it, it looks quite promising to me, since I like those space pew pew things. Would be cool to do some multiplayer pew pew's together !

Homeworld

Used to play those when I was a little kid.

i played it all, hw1,hw2,the addons and idk about today´s patches but back in the days the multiplayer was kinda odd since there was practically only one gud fighter class/formation combined with rockets or laser fregatte. being sneaky costed too much time, overteching was a sure defeat and the formation variants had too less impact.

but the graphics were awesome for its time being

They did a good job so far, and they have no way to break the game. They improved textures and some other graphical effects, converted cut scenes in higher resolution and even hired back the original voice actors.

You would be surprised how often remakes of older games are full of new bugs, like in AoE2 HD where entire netcode is butchered, campaigns had broken scripts + removal of LAN.

Get the point defense mod for it, if it still works.
You get more pewpew with it and nice looking space battles + some other nice stuff.

The head developer of the best HW2 mod (italian even!) just wrote this on their forum, looks really promising

or latest Heroes 3 remake
expensive, no expansions, even modders don't want to touch it because they say that ERA and VCMI are better.
and huge pc requirements (compared to the orginal)

Never played it. However on youtube you can find plenty of videos of HW. It's a must have game for space RTS, for the storyline and the technology involved when it was released

Homeword remastered is simply awesome! I love it!! Although it's a game with ten years of age it still provides the tactical depth which makes a really good RTS. Also the scenary of space pew pew is very, very appealing to me!
